Catholic Secondary School Marl
A group of 7th grade students from the Turkish city of Samsun on the Black Sea coast visited the Catholic Secondary School in Marl together with their teachers to learn more about the topic: “Teacher and student competencies for the use of new technologies in education”.
The visit offered the students the opportunity to gain an insight into the technological equipment in the educational sector, to get to know different cultures and to develop their intercultural skills.
Teacher Serkan Nurdoğan, who was used to visiting Turkish schools at the Catholic Secondary School, used a guided tour to highlight various aspects of the use of new technologies in education. He reported on his experiences with the use of digital media and gave the students the opportunity to ask questions and actively participate in the exchange.
The participants were enthusiastic about the possibilities that the use of new media in education would open up for them. They recognized the opportunities that arise through the targeted use of digital tools and interactive learning methods and were motivated to integrate what they had learned into their own learning process.
The event was part of a project to promote digitalization in education and strengthen teachers' and students' skills in dealing with new technologies. The organizers hope that the students and teachers from Samsun will benefit from this experience and be able to bring the knowledge and skills they have acquired back to their school and community.
The Catholic Secondary School is proud to promote such intercultural encounters and to offer students the opportunity to think outside the box and learn from the experiences of others. This visit will undoubtedly help to increase awareness of different cultures and promote intercultural dialogue.
