Local meeting SoR-SmC

Anwar and Ela-Nur represent the KHS at the local meeting for School without Racism - School with Courage

On Thursday, December 7th, 2023, Ela-Nur and Anwar represented the KHS as the only secondary school and the youngest in the network of participating Courage schools at the district's local meeting on the topic of "Sustainably committed to the Courage network" in the large meeting room of the Recklinghausen district building. Together with Ms. Würtz, they received a certificate and a gift in recognition of their participation in the "Showing courage is worth it!" competition.

The project carried out in cooperation with the association ZWEITZEUGEN eV sustainably strengthens anti-discrimination work and makes a special contribution to political education. The school is thereby setting an example for tolerance, respect and peaceful coexistence, stated the Municipal Integration Center of the Recklinghausen district.

Following the award ceremony, the KHS representatives took part in a workshop on "Islamism and Islamophobia," which was moderated by Daniel, an expert from the "Wegweiser" prevention program. Ela-Nur and Anwar contributed convincingly to the discussion about the Israel conflict and discussed the topic on an equal footing with students and teachers from other Courage schools.

Thank you very much for your efforts!
