(02.05.2019) The Katholische Hauptschule Marl has made it its mission to support its students in promoting democracy, personal development and self-perception in the social media age.

She received help from the theater production Comic On! from Cologne with the play “#werbinich?” In this performance, the questions “Who am I? Without a smartphone? Without likes? Without social media?” became clear.

Students in grades 8 to 10 dealt with the topics of opinion formation and personality development in the age of social media, filters and fake news.

This distorted perception of reality often has consequences for the self-esteem and self-confidence of young people. This became clear to the students during the performance. Referring to Immanuel Kant's quote "Have the courage to use your own understanding", the play prompted a discussion afterwards in which 200 students engaged in lively discussions with the actors.
