Catholic Secondary School Marl
My name is Bärbel Themann, I was born in 1961 and grew up in Gelsenkirchen-Resse. I have enjoyed living in GE-Buer for over 30 years. My family has made me a diehard Schalke fan since I was a child. My daughter is now an adult.
After my traineeship (1988), I waited 10 years for my permanent position as a teacher and during this time I got to know many other work situations outside and inside schools.
After several years at the Emmastrasse secondary school in GE-Bulmke, I was deputy headteacher at the Grillostrasse secondary school in GE-Schalke for 10 years, where I was then headteacher for 3 years. Since April 2017, I have been bringing the experience I gained there into my current role as headteacher at the Marl Catholic Secondary School.
With a great team of teachers, we are working together to develop the school further so that students can receive intensive support and encouragement during their school years to achieve the best possible qualifications, and sustainable career guidance for the time after school makes the transition into the world of work easier.
I am open to praise and criticism, just as I am available for advice and assistance.
